Ethics Review Committee
Submission
An application for ethical review should be accompanied by:
Covering letter
Completed application form (available online at www.afzaalfoundation.org) providing the necessary information to the ERC for review (including both the research protocol and disclosures of any conflicting interests)
CV of the Primary Investigator
Research Protocol
Budget to assess justification of funds
Complete applications should be submitted by e-mail to official e-mail address of ERC at erc@afzaalfoundation.org
Research must only be performed by the persons with scientific, clinical, or other relevant qualifications appropriate to the project and expected to have basic knowledge of the ethical standards applicable to the project.
Student applications must be submitted under the responsibility of a qualified supervisor involves in the oversight of the student’s work, countersigning the submitted application for ethical review.
Duration of Approval
The duration of approval for a study shall be valid to a maximum period of one (1) year after which a re-approval is required. This will be standard for any study submitted irrespective of its duration whether one (1), five (5) or more years. Any change in conditions that could affect the rights of subjects during a study must be informed for approval to continue the study.
Applicant’s Responsibility After Approval
The applicant is responsible for:
Reporting any adverse incident during the course of a study to the Committee, even if the incident is not directly related to the study (e.g. a complaint by a subject etc)
Notifying the Committee of any change in protocol and obtaining further ethical approval as appropriate

AMTF is Pakistan first 24hrs cashless hospital almost 45 bedded providing treatment facilities to more than 1,400 thalassemia and blood disorder patients at par with the international standards since 2003.
Help Dr. Asim Qidwai, Founder and CEO of AMTF continue to sustain his novel concept of Saving a Life in Front of My Eyes (SALIFOME), where blood donors and blood transfusion recipients can build a bond by having the blood donation area and blood receiving area opposite to each other in order for building an emotional bond between recipients and donors, hence keeping the donor pool intact.![]()
